Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an experienced Interim Controller to join their client's team in Sacramento, California. This supervisory position requires a professional who is skilled in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the leadership team to manage and optimize financial processes. This is will last at least 6 months and could turn into a permanent role if it's the right fit. If it goes to permanent, the salary range has more flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the financial accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and maintained to safeguard the company's assets.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide strategic insights and drive business decisions.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as required by senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or a similar role.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
Required Work Hours
Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed to meet business demands.
